Florida Charter Bass Fishing Report:
September 2000

September's heat wave which is not common during this time of the year slowed the Florida charter bass fishing down. Hurricane Gordan which pasted by us however helped turn the bass on.

The low-water conditions on massive Lake Okeechobee has helped the fishing by congregating the fish into smaller areas making them easier to catch!

I have put together some September 2000 Florida charter bass fishing reports of Florida bass that were caught while wild shiner fishing on Lake Okeechobee by anglers from across the United States. Our Florida charter bass fishing reports are also cataloged under each month they were caught during the 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 calendar years. A charter fishing report on amount of bass caught, area caught on Lake Okeechobee and other information is listed with each Florida charter bass fishing report. To ensure validity the angler's name, address, phone number and e-mail address is also listed with every fishing report.

Florida Charter Bass Fishing - September 29 & 30, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida charter bass fishing anglers George White (Alabaster, AL - e-mail: KATGAL51@aol.com) and Tony Sicola (Pelham, AL) caught 21 bass up to 4 lbs during 2 days Sept. 28 & 29, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught on the North Shore and Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Charter Bass Fishing - September 26, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida charter bass angler Joel Newton (Newark Valley, NY - ph: 607-642-5378) caught 10 bass up to 3 lbs during a afternoon half a day (Sept. 26, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught on the North Shore and Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Charter Bass Fishing - September 21 & 22, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida charter bass fishing anglers Francis Ruffy (Phila. PA - ph: 215-765-9111) and Mauro Ruffy (Manhasset, NY) caught 41 bass up to 3 lbs during 2 half days (Sept. 21 & 22, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. This was their second trip this month (see Sept. 17, 2000 report below). Bass were caught on the North Shore and Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Charter Bass Fishing - September 19 & 20, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida Charter bass fishing anglers Ara Hollenback (Torrance, CA - e-mail: bassmaster77@aol.com) and Jeff Marshall (Southgate, MI) caught 27 bass up to 3 lbs during 2 half days (Sept. 19 & 20, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught on the North Shore and Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Charter Bass Fishing - September 17, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida charter bass fishing anglers Francis Ruffy (Phila. PA - ph: 215-765-9111) and Mauro Ruffy (Manhasset, NY) caught 12 bass up to 6 lbs during a half day (Sept. 17, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. They also caught a grass carp that had to weigh somewhere in the 25 - 30 lb. range believe it or not on a shiner! Bass and carp were caught in the Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass and the grass carp were released.

Florida Charter Bass Fishing - September 11 - 15, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass charter fishing anglers Roger and Joe Galloway (Sunbright, TN - ph: 423-628-5220) caught 104 bass up to 5 lbs during 5 days (Sept. 11 - 15, 2000) of shiner fishing with Captain Ron. This nice catch of Florida bass were caught in the Harney Pond canal, Twin Palm canal and Fisheating Creek areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida charter bass fishing couple Dright and Ami Raymond (Kendall, FL - e-mail: AmieRaymie@aol.com) (Sunbright, TN) caught about 10 bass up to 3 lbs during 2 half days (Sept. 9 & 10, 2000) of shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond and Twin Palm canals of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Charter Bass Fishing - September 8, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida charter bass fishing honeymoon anglers Marc and Lyn Rumig (Cambridge, Canada, Ont. - e-mail: mrumig@sentex.net) caught about 40 bass up to 8 lbs during 1 day (Sept. 8, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Charter Bass Fishing - September 7 & 8, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida charter bass fishing couple Phil and Loni Janik (Torrington, CT - e-mail: pjanik@javanet.com) caught and released 12 bass up to 4 1/4 lbs on wild shiners during 2 half days (Sept. 7 & 8, 2000) of Florida bass fishing with Captain Ron. Phil caught the 4 1/4 lb. Florida bass. His wife Loni also caught and released a nice 3 1/2 lb. bass. Their best catch of the day however was a ugly 10 lb. mudfish that Phil struggled to land. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond canal area of Lake Okeechobee.
