I have put together some May 2000 Florida bass fishing reports of Florida bass that were caught while wild shiner fishing on Lake Okeechobee by anglers from across the United States. Our Florida bass fishing reports are also cataloged under each month they were caught during the 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 calendar years. A fishing report on amount of bass caught, area caught on Lake Okeechobee and other information is listed with each Florida bass fishing report. Florida Bass Fishing - May 30, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass fishing husband and wife Bob and Myrtle Oberle (Bell Fontaine, OH - ph: 937-599-2990) caught 16 bass up to 4 lbs during one day (May 30, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught on the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing - May 26, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass fishing anglers Bob Franklin (Grandville, OH - ph: 740-927-2381), Gale Brown and his son Joe (Palm City, FL - e-mail: galeb@3implant.com) caught 22 bass up to 5 lbs during one day (May 26, 2000) of shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Bass were caught in fisheating creek area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing - May 26, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass angler Larry Daughtry (Orlando, FL - ph: 407-695-3570) caught 18 bass up to 8 lbs during a half day (May 26, 2000) of bass fishing with artificial lures with Ron's Guide Service. The 8 lb'er was caught on a black blue tail worm. Bass were caught on the North Shore area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Bass were caught on the North Shore and Monkey Box areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing - May 21 - 24, 2000 Fishing Report

Bass fishermen Marty Weisbart (Manhasset, NY - e-mail: marty@pfile.com) and Howard Lambert (Chicago, IL - e-mail: hjl3525@aol.com) caught 53 bass that included a 7 1/2 lb. and a 6 lb'er during 3 and the half days (May 21 - 24, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Marty caught the 7 1/2 lb'er. Howard got the 6 lb'er. Bass were caught on the North Shore of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida bass fishing couple John Vargosko (West Palm Beach, FL - e-mail: John.Vargosko@icsltd.net) and Sarah Stabley caught 6 bass that included a 8 3/4 lb. and a 6 3/4 lb'er during a half day (May 21, 2000) of shiner fishing with Captain Ron. John caught the 8 3/4 lb'er and the 6 3/4 lb'er. Sarah caught a bass that was almost 5 lbs. Bass were caught in fisheating creek area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida bass fishing husband and wife team Kerry and Raquel Gluckman (Sundale, MI - ph: 248-398-8108) caught 27 bass up to 5 lbs during 2 half days (May 11 & 12, 2000) of shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Bass were caught in fisheating creek area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing - May 5 - 7, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass fishing anglers Jim Noel (Revloc, PA - e-mail: LGillin@aol.com) and Brad Bopp (Annapolis, MD - e-mail: sonex@erols.com) caught 71 bass that included an 8 lb, 7 1/4 lb and 5 3/4 lb'er during 3 days (May 5 - 7, 2000) of shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Jim caught the 8 lb'er even though it took both Jim and Brad's shiner and had both of their hooks stuck in it's mouth. This was the third time in 15 years that I have guided on Lake Okeechobee where I have witnessed such an event. Brad however caught the 7 1/4 lb'er. Bass were caught in fisheating creek area of Lake Okeechobee. All bass except the 8 lb'er were released.
