I have (although the bass fishing was slow due to the unusual hot day temperatures that caused the water to stay in the 90's) put together some August 2000 Florida bass fishing USCG guide reports of Florida bass that were caught while wild shiner fishing on Lake Okeechobee by anglers from across the United States. Our Florida bass fishing USCG guide reports are also cataloged under each month they were caught during the 2003, 2002. 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 calendar years. A fishing report on amount of bass caught, area caught on Lake Okeechobee and other information is listed with each Florida bass fishing report. Florida Bass Fishing USCG Guide - August 12 - 14, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass fishing anglers Lonney Lee (Gonzales, LA) and Herman McAlister (St. Amant, LA - e-mail: lmcaliste@premier.net) caught 61 bass up to 4 1/2 lbs during 3 days (Aug. 12 - 14, 2000) of shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Bass were caught in fisheating creek, twin pond and Harney Pond areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing USCG Guide - August 7 & 8, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass fishing angler Don Riddle (Westfield, NC - ph: 336-351-3148) caught 18 bass up to 4 lbs during 2 half days (Aug. 7 & 8, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught on the North Shore and Harney Pond canal areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing USCG Guide - August 7 & 8, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass fishing angler Paul Lyles (West Manchester, OH - ph: 937-678-4101) caught 16 bass up to 3 lbs during 2 half days (Aug. 7 & 8, 2000) of shiner fishing with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond canal areas of Lake Okeechobee. All bass were released.

Florida Bass Fishing USCG Guide - August 3 - 7, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass fishing father and son team Mike Harris (Newark, DE - e-mail: IAceOne@aol.com) and his 19 year-old son Ian caught about 80 Florida bass up to 4 1/2 lbs during 3 1/2 days (Aug. 3-7, 2000) of wild shiner fishing with Captain Ron. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond Canal and Fisheating creek areas of Lake Okeechobee. They also caught released unharmed a 3 foot alligator which tried to eat our float and hooked it self in the tail. Click here to view pictures of the alligator they caught.

Florida Bass Fishing USCG Guide - August 2 - 4, 2000 Fishing Report

Florida bass fishing anglers Chae Myong Chi and his son-in-law Chuck Etheridge (Taegu, Korea - ph: 011-82534734777 - e-mail: EtheridgeC@usfk.korea.army.mil) caught 117 Florida bass up to 5 lbs during 3 days (Aug. 2-4, 2000) of Florida wild shiner bass fishing with Captain Ron. Mr. Chi caught the 5 lb. Florida bass and had a larger one throw the hook just as it was being netted. Chuck and his father-in-law on their last morning (Aug. 5, 2000) with me also bagged 2 wild boar hogs. We Florida bass fished in the Harney Pond Canal and Fisheating Creek areas of Lake Okeechobee. They released all (116) Florida bass and kept the 5 lb'er for mounting.
