2001
Florida bass fishing reports for each month
of the 2001, 2000, 1999 and 1998 calendar years that describe
the amount and size of bass caught, the Florida shiner and artificial
lure fishing techniques used by guides to catch them, the areas
of Lake Okeechobee that produced the best bass fishing action,
and other bass fishing information is contained in our Florida
bass fishing reports. To
ensure validity the angler's name,
address, city, state, phone number, e-mail
address, date and year the
party fished is also included in every fishing report.
Lake
Okeechobee's low water conditions which has congregated the bass
in the deep water areas of the lake, making them easier to catch,
is really helping my guide parties land lots of trophy size bass
during the month of April. Trophy bass fishing forecast
for the month of May under the low water conditions should be
the best ever.
A
monster 10 3/4 lb trophy bass was caught out on Lake Okeechobee
by a party fishing wild shers with me on the morning of May 22,
2001

31, June 1 & 2, 2001
Florida shiner bass fishing
anglers Randy Aldrich (Ballwin, MO - e-mail: PD155@aol.com) and Rich Wooten (O'Fallon,
MO) caught and
released 57
bass that included a 5 1/2 and 5 3/4 lb'er during 3 days (May 31, June 1 & 2,
2001) of wild shiner bass fishing with Captain Ron. I fished the
Point Of The Reef out on Lake Okeechobee during our morning sessions
of fishing and Lake Okeechobee's Sportsman Canal during our afternoon
sessions of fishing.

Florida shiner bass fishing
anglers Eric Metrokotsas (Piscataway, NJ - e-mail:

25
bass up to 5 lbs
during 2 days (May 31, June 1 & 2, 2001) of shiner bass fishing
with Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond
Canal area of Lake Okeechobee.

- e-mail: whube@prodigy.net)) caught and released 15 bass up to 4 1/2 lbs during 2 half days (May
23 & 24, 2001) of shiner bass fishing with Captain Ron. I
fished Lake Okeechobee's Sportsman Canal during our afternoon
and morning sessions of fishing.

21 & 22, 2001
Florida wild shiner trophy
bass fishing anglers Rick Perry (Indianapolis, IN - e-mail:
rperry@mibor.net) and Dean Trennepohl (Monticello, IN - e-mail:
dtren@monti.net) caught

bass that included a 10 3/4 lb'er during 2 half days (May 21 & 22, 2001)
of wild shiner bass fishing with Captain Ron. Dean caught the
10 3/4 lb'er. They boated 10 bass up to 5 lbs in the Harney Pond
Canal on their first afternoon of shiner fishing. The next morning
I fished the Point Of The Reef out on Lake Okeechobee where we
boated 18 bass up to 10 3/4 lbs. All bass except the 10 3/4 lb'er
were released.

and released 10
bass up to 6 lbs
during a half day (May 20, 2001) of wild shiner bass fishing with
Ron's Guide Service. Bass were caught in the Harney Pond Canal
area of Lake Okeechobee.

bass up to 4 1/2 lbs during
2 half days (May 19 & 20, 2001) of shiner bass fishing with
Captain Ron. This couple fished with Captain Ron 13 years ago.
I fished Sportsman Canal and the Point Of The Reef areas of Lake
Okeechobee.
