Wild Shiner Bass Fishing Report:
March
2003
Florida
bass fishing reports for each month of the 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000,
1999 and 1998 calendar years that describe the amount and size
of bass caught, the Florida shiner and artificial lure fishing
techniques used by guides to catch them, the areas of Lake Okeechobee
that produced the best bass fishing action, and other bass fishing
information is contained in our Florida bass fishing reports.
To ensure validity
the angler's name, address,
city, state, phone number, e-mail
address, date and year the
party fished is also included in every fishing report.
High
water conditions which has Okeechobee's bass bunched up in the
weedy areas, making them hard to catch, is not producing as many
bass catches for my wild shiner guide fishing parties. These results
would get better as the lake water gets lower. My guide parties
are landing some trophy bass in spite of Okeechobee's high water
and gale force wind conditions. We should have a large spawn this
month and during April.Trophy bass fishing outlook for the rest
of the month and the month of April should be excellent!

Dear
Captain Ron:
We
had a great time, with very good results. We caught probably 20
fish
between the two half days of fishing. We caught one over 5 pounds
and another
over six pounds. This is my second trip out with good results
on both trips. We would be glad to recommend your service to others.
Thanks
for the great time!

Cap'n Ron,
Thank you so very much!! The fishing trip you provided for Monica
and
myself was absolutely wonderful. I believe I was more excited
then her when
she landed that 6 3/4 lb'er. The air boat ride was also an experience
we
will never forget, and of course I can still see red dog standing
on the
front of the boat just waiting for a bird to go by. I have already
recommended your services to a number of my friends and will
continue to
highly recommend you to anyone who wants to go fishing for a
"trophy bass."
Sincerely,
Dana Earl & Monica

Captain
Ron,
The trip
was excellent. The amount of fish varied, obviously, per boat.
Our boat did the best. Our two day total was around two dozen
bass, a couple of gar and one mudfish. The other boats did pretty
good, but overall it was somewhat slow. That was probably more
to do with the water temperature and the fact that we opted to
use artificial lures in most of the boats. The size of fish,
though, was better than below average days around here. We all
know about Danny's 8.5 lb'er, but he also caught a 5 lb'er that
morning. Being from north of the Mason-Dixon line you should
know that a 5 is a real big fish for us. Jason, who was with
me, also caught his biggest fish--a 5 lb'er--albeit on a shiner
(we all told him it doesn't count). I caught a 4.5 lb bass as
well. The other fish caught were upwards of 2.5-3.5 lbs.
Hope to
see you again next year.
Andrew Grimes
