The
Seminole Indian name Okeechobee actually means big water, an appropriate
title for the largest freshwater lake in the United States occurring
entirely in one state. The lake including its access canals and
rim canals is approximately 37 miles long by 30 miles wide (448,000
acres, 700 square miles) with an average depth of almost 10 feet.
It has approximate 140 miles of levee around it with an average
height of 34 feet. It is the 2nd Largest Freshwater Lake in the
U.S. To fishermen nation wide, Okeechobee is renowned for the
sheer numbers of bass it contains per acre and the fact that it
produces more Florida trophy bass over 8 pounds than any lake
in Florida and the United States!
Our full day bass fishing rate is for a 8 hour straight
day of fishing from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

guide service has earned the approved status from the North American
Fishing Club. Captain Ron incidentally has earned this status since 1989 and would like to emphasize that
approved status must be earned. In other words Ron's Guide Service
could not earn this status simply by taking someone affiliated
with the NAFC out fishing for free. To receive fishing reports
from other fishermen describing the quantity of fish caught, competence
of guide, conditions of boat and motor and accommodations - call
